Like most people with nearly 20 years of work experience I struggle when I’m asked to share a one-pager about myself and my experience. Flashes of 6 point font race through my head as I image myself trying to shove years of experience onto one page. And such was the case on Friday when I was asked for my “one pager”. Thankfully, I was saved by the glory of the internet.
After a couple of tries with Bing, I stumbled upon the “My Brandboard” offering by TMWK. I loved the layout and the concept of giving someone a sense of who you are – giving them a peek of what makes you, you (definitely worth a look if you are looking for a visually impactful way of promoting/introducing yourself). Unfortunately timelines being what they were, I was forced to continue looking. So with sleeves rolled up I began a militant search for different types of identity one-pagers. I looked at everything from Visual CVs to Infographic Business Diaries to actual Brandboards – there’s so much out there.
After about 4 hours I ended up with 23 different examples of identity one-pagers. Although all were prepared with one goal in mind – self promotion/introduction – each had conveyed its message in a slightly different way, allowing for the creators personality to shine through. And that’s what I wanted to create, a one-pager that not only promoted my experience but also reflected a bit of me. In my opinion, those are the best ones and I’m hoping mine can be counted among them.
